Band Biography
The foundation of TRUST Company
was forged nearly a decade
ago out of a teenage friendship
between Kevin Palmer (guitars/vocals)
and Jason Singleton (drums).
The two began to play
music together and attracted
both Josh Moates (bass) and
James Fukai (guitars) to join
them. Together, the
Alabama-based band, then named
41 Down, began to play local
shows in the nearby city of
Montgomery. After two
self-released albums, the
band was signed by DCide Records
and proceeded to tour the
country in a van with a $1,000
a month budget.
Fortunately, the hard times
paid off. In late 2001, TRUST
Company was signed by Geffen
Records. The band re-recorded
their earlier releases to
create The Lonely Position
of Neutral, an emotionally
charged album with honest
lyrics that connects directly
to their fans. Most
of the lyrics on the album
were written by Kevin Palmer
in response to situations
in his own life. The
band, however, was also able
to identify with his work.
Singleton explained that "anyone
could relate and I think that
worked. When people listen
to what he's saying they feel
like maybe someone understands
what they're going through
too."
This down-to-earth style has
been the cornerstone of success
for the band. They now
enjoy riding on a tour bus
and being fed before a show.
This does not mean that
they have forgotten their
roots. In fact, they
are thankful for having a
slightly rocky road on the
way up. Singleton believes
that ""I think that
to be really successful, you
have to be honest with yourself
and realize that there's a
mountain you have to climb
before any of this is even
remotely stable." TRUST
Company continues to climb
that mountain...
