Russell Howard, Guitar and Vocals

Born and raised in Dallas TX, Charlotte NC based singer/songwriter Russell Howard grew up the only child of two professional symphony musicians. Falling in love with music early, Russell side stepped his parents' course and claimed his birthright playing guitar, writing, and singing.

Always a moving target, his style is best described by the Dallas Morning News as 'creative coloring outside the lines dividing mainstream pop & indie folk,' but is rooted in a philosophy of authenticity. As Vintage Guitar Magazine observed, 'Howard seems to have no agenda other than writing good, tight, and trim tunes and transmitting the joy of performing them into the joy of listening.'

This authentic approach is nowhere more apparent than on his 2012 release City Heart. While this collection of six songs happily treads familiar territory with themes of love and loss, as Hear Hear proclaims: 'one listen is enough to guarantee he’ll have an audience for life.'
