Hailing from the Seattle scene, Kronstudios is more than a group of artists and music enthusiasts getting together: Ron, Michael and Angela Flemming, the people behind the moniker are in fact two brothers and one sister, that joined forces to make music influenced by their father's record collection (Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross…) as much as more modern sounds from several sources. The big turn came when producer Roger Fergeson introduced the band to sequencing and looping, which marked a big step in their creative process.
Michael's sampling brought a new personality to Kronstudios instrumentals and the songs are often enriched by Angela's vocals, who gives a new, more innocent and bright vibe to some of their songs, in contrast with the hip-hop style of their productions.
The group is always busy with none music related work, but when the get together you can hear the magic they produce. |
