Aaron Parsons
As a teenager, Parsons wrote music out of a struggle with high school life as a boy with Aspergers. A big fan of Eminem, he composed crafty rap songs to cope with the pain. At first he started out writing an album parody of 'Straight Outta Compton' called 'Straight Outtta G-lawn' targetting people from his old high school but soon was writing more about life and issues teenagers faced. Parsons wrote about what people with disabilities and what angry geeks and nerds struggled with. After graduating from high school, he travelled to Toronto to record an amateur first album in his uncle’s mansion using only a karaoke machine. Parsons promotional track was played at his high school’s Christmas dance in December 2001 and eventually pulled in February 2002.
Returning to college and doing remixes for OC Remix and VGMix on the side, Aaron Parsons bred both good and bad publicity via the two websites alone under the username Double A Ron and eventually moved on to writing his next few albums. In 2007, he produced a sample heavy Address to Earth Mixtape which focuses on struggles of being different and struggles with Christianity. Parsons claims the album is a call to living out who you are as well as the preservation and outspoken character of a novel voice.
In 2008, Aaron Parsons met up with his top influence John Reuben and stumped him in a Q & A interview regarding his switch from 90s hip-hop stylin’ to spoken word. After speaking with the artist personally, his passion rose to write and produce the 'Real Skool for Ma Peg People' mixtape sequel to 'Address to Earth' within two weeks.
In 2009, Aaron Parsons left for Brandon Manitoba to upgrade web design schooling and failed some classes alongside YouTube celebrity Curtis Paridis. During downtime in college, he recorded his first fully original album 'Just Listen' which is now in iTunes. Around 2010, Parsons went through a rocky relationship with a local country girl and problems with his churches’ small group which made him struggle heavily in his faith. Loosing many friends, Parsons now remains underground creating songs, interactive web designs, and other soundtracks. His latest free mixtape, 'Hear This Right Now' is a reflection of his time in Brandon Manitoba and change in faith. |
